Environment
Sustainability has been a key focus of our business for many years, as demonstrated by our use of intermodal solutions.
As a logistics services provider, we realise the serious responsibility involved in demonstrating sound environmental performance. Accordingly, we have developed a high level strategic plan, which included achieving the milestone of accreditation to the Environmental Standard ISO 14001. The CRT Group systems management, of which ISO 14001 is a part of, provides the following assurances to our customers and suppliers:
We have also invested significant time and resources to ensure that we meet the Australian Design Rule (ADR) 80/02 which came into force on 1 January 2008. This introduced hard-hitting requirements for engines used in heavy-duty vehicles in order to reduce air pollution. Through our strong relationship with the largest heavy-duty diesel manufacturer in the world Volvo Trucks, CRT Group was prepared well ahead to meet the new legislative requirements. This has included purchasing the new Euro 4 Volvo FM 480hp 13-litre engine with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology. This model also has the capability of being configured to meet the more stringent Euro 5 standards, which don´t come into effect until 2011. It delivers reduced exhaust emissions, increased drivability and performance, as well as lower fuel consumption.
