CRT Group was established in 1981 by Colin and Phil Rees. The brothers were given a strong foundation on which to base the business, following in the steps of their mother Betty Rees, who pioneered the family’s involvement in the transport industry with South Suburban Radio Taxi Trucks.

From humble beginnings, CRT Group soon became specialists in bulk haulage for the plastics industry. Subsequently, the company then expanded operations to include packaged products, intermodal freight and supply chain management.

Over the years, CRT Group has earned a strong reputation for the development and application of innovative technologies and developing efficiencies that add value to supply chains, beyond the material benefits of service quality and competitive pricing.

In 2005, the company became a wholly owned subsidiary of national transport and logistics company QR Limited, which has facilitated expansion into new markets and broadened the range of services that CRT Group offers.

In September 2007, CRT Group acquired Golden Bros, a privately owned national logistics business that has serviced the plastics and chemicals industries for over 25 years.

The acquisition provided a platform for the expansion of our business, both geographically and also through the diversification into market sectors such as dangerous / hazardous goods.

In August 2008, Golden Bros was fully integrated to operate as part of CRT Group and at the same time we launched a new and dynamic brand that reflects our focus as a business on ´better ways´.

We have grown to become a national transport and logistics company employing over 300 personnel, with branches in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.
