Logistics Leader Awarded for Health & Safety Initiative
National transport and logistics leader, CRT Group has recently been awarded the 2007 PACIA Health & Safety Award. The successful nomination, relating to the Job Safety Environment Analysis (JSEA) project, follows on from the achievement in January this year, when CRT Group gained certification in the AS/NZS4801 standard across all branches.
CRT Group CEO, Cameron Dunn explains that receiving the award affirms the strong commitment of the business to quality and safety. “CRT Group is proud to be leading the way in developing best practice in critical areas such as safety and quality. Safety is obviously a key consideration for the logistics industry and being awarded the 2007 PACIA Health & Safety Award is testament to the investment we have made as a business in our OH&S management systems.”
“The systems we have implemented throughout the business have been supported by a comprehensive education and training program undertaken by our personnel. This has ensured that safety is made a priority of everyone involved in our business”, he said. Mr Dunn went on to acknowledge the important role that OH&S management systems play in assisting customers to meet their chain of responsibility obligations.
“CRT Group’s certification in the AS/NZS4801 standard across all branches, as well as our quality management system certification to the internationally recognized ISO 9001 standard, ensures that we are well equipped to meet the impending legislative requirements and uphold our chain of responsibility commitments to our customers”, he said.
The Health & Safety Award, which was sponsored by Orica was part of the PACIA Health & Safety, Environment and Sustainability awards, which were presented at the PACIA National conference, held in Sydney from 3-5 June 2007.
