Partnering with ARG in WA

CRT Group and sister company ARG recently partnered to provide a transport and logistics solution for customers in the Kwinana region (WA).

The challenge was to provide inbound and outbound container transport at the ARG Kwinana Rail Terminal.  The operations in the area involve large volumes of raw materials and finished goods used for local and export purposes.

With a short lead time, the ARG and CRT teams worked together to provide a road transport service to rail customers in the region.  The huge task involved setting up processes and equipment to manage the operations across 11 customer sites.  This included conducting Job Safety Environment Analysis (JSEAs), sourcing specialised equipment and inducting new employees and contractors at sites.

General Manager Richard Spall said the mining and resources sector was a key part of CRT´s plans for 2010 and beyond.

"CRT´s expanded services in the Kwinana region capitalises on our operational strengths in bulk handling and intermodal transport.  Through our partnership with ARG we plan to offer fully integrated transport solutions to the resources sector", Richard said.
